  The most beautiful canvases
The motorway is not wide enough
During the European Heritage Days there was a guided visit to the old town of Availles and to see the work of the washerwomen of this epoch. The painters in the street produced beautiful paintings in a remarkably short space of time.
At the end of August, as part of the European bat awareness campaign, Michèle Lemaire came to teach us all about bats. The highlight of the evening was when we went round the town at nightfall with an ultrasonic device called a Batbox. This enabled us to hear the bats even though we could not always see them.
Le Tony Parker d'Availles    Thank you sir !
On 25 August the farmers' market was held for the second time, this year at the stadium, and again the public were not disappointed. About 800 people came to taste the delicious, local products, listen to the chorus of hunting horns and applaud a local singer. It was a hard but rewarding day's work for the volunteer helpers.
During the summer, two visits to the Boulangerie Nault were organised. As always, there was something to interest everybody.
The fête du pain (bread festival) this year was held in the pretty hamlet of l'Age Voulergne on 25 July. In spite of the valiant efforts by the bakers to cope with the demand, bread and grimolles were completely sold out. There were attractive market stalls and demonstrations in the street and a special entertainer called Bob. It was quite a day !
On 11 July the second cantonal tourist rally was every bit as popular as the year before. All the participants enjoyed themselves and any feelings of rivalry between the teams were well hidden...
On 6 February we were transported to Tibet and Bhutan, thanks to Geneviève Fourquet who showed us her magnificient slides of these countries of "bonheur national brut".
